a day with Okonomi @ Publika

Ever since we started working in KL, we rarely have the time to go for cafe hopping. Whenever there is a holiday or during weekend, we prefer to laze at home, rather than going out and jam-packed with the large crowd.

However, for this Raya, we decided to re-visit Okonomi @ Publika to have our customized sushi roll and also to utilize our winning in the Okonomi Instagram Contest! It has been such a long time since my last winning in online contest.
Yes~ I am @laepeng. Clapped :P ~

Previous visit to Okonomi with my family makes me fall in love with their self-customizing concept.
Okonomi @ Block A4-G2 Publika
For me, I really dislike having cucumber in my UraMaki. Super hate the hassle of  needing to pull out the whole cucumber from my UraMaki.

Therefore, today, I gona make my own UraMaki roll. Ignore all the vegetables and only slotting in all my favourite; Chicken Karaage~Salmon~etc.  (Yes, I am a carnivore).

Tadaaaa~~
This is my UraMaki of the day.
My Nutty UraMaki.
Filling, Chicken Karaage, Fried Salmon and Mixed mushroom topped with Mentai Sauce & Crushed Nut.

This is the first time I have my UraMaki together with Crushed Nut. Delicious. Thumb Up.
Being "TamJiak" us, of course, one sushi roll would not be able to satisfy us. We also ordered Chicken Teriyaki Rice, Chicken Karaage and also Soft Shell Crab Pasta.

Chicken Karaage.
Rating:9/10

Chicken Teriyaki Rice.
Rating : 8/10
Hubby finished both Chicken Teriyaki Rice and Chicken Karaage by his own. So I guess he really loved both dishes a lot. He gave a thumb up for the Chicken Karaage's crunchiness.

Soft Shell Crab Pasta.
Rating: 7/10
The pasta taste really good with sesame sauce.I love the deep fried soft shell crab as it comes together with its' roe, However for ladies, please get a friend to share with you as the portion is quite big. I ate the whole bowl by my own and started feeling "jelak" after having 3/4 of it.

Last but not least, our dessert of the day.
Chocolate Lava Cake.
Rating:8/10
When they served us the Chocolate Lava Cake, the chocolate sauce had already leaked out from the cake. Therefore, when I poked my spoon into the cake, it does not have the chocolate bursting effect. A bit of disappointment.

Otherwise, it will be a 10/10 rating.

Overall, both of us enjoyed the meal here.
Only comment is the staff here are not really friendly and polite. They do not ask for our permission before taking away the plates from our table.

Hopefully, the next visit, we will be able to see some improvement in them. But, one thing for sure, I will be back to try different way to customize my very own sushi roll.

Croisette Cafe_Authentic French Cafe

Bonjour~

Today is a great day to share with u all the authentic French cuisine in Bangsar. Went there for my birthday celebration and my super-great "DaJie" introduced this restaurant to us.

This restaurant is operated by a French chef and he is really well-known for his dessert. Recommended to come here to try out their dessert as it is featured in few major newspaper.

Personally, I love the dessert as the taste is just nice for my taste bud and not too sweet. Thumb up for them!

Enough of my rubbish already. It's time to show u some solid photo evidence :).

The interior of the café is simple and cozy

They also provide free magazine and newspaper for your leisure reading. However, seating is limited as this is a rather small scale restaurant. So , please make an advance booking in order to secure your table or to visit them during lunch time as the crowd is lesser in this hour.

Self-syok before the food arrive

We are the only customer as we visited the restaurant on Sunday afternoon. I guess most of the people is still in their sweet dream and yet to wake.

Recommended by the staff: Mussel Baked with Garlic Herbs
The mussels are really fresh and they baked it just nice . So, when you chewed the mussel, there is still some juice. Yummy. Unlike certain place, their mussels is not overcook.

Pasta Clam Mariniere
This pasta is ordered by my dad. The spaghetti is cook with the clam and lightly curry flavoured. If you do not favor curry, you can just ask the chef to cook it with original taste. This is the best pasta as I had mentioned earlier the seafood they used is fresh, therefore the spaghetti gravy is also very flavorful. However, the gravy is too little.

Duck Confit with Potato Sarladaise
Yeah! I ordered this duck. The meat is slightly too salty for me and the portion is just nice for one person. Suitable for lady eater and not for a male as they might not full with this. The Potato Sarladaise is delicious, lightly fried with garlic and some herbs. We even ordered extra portion of this potato dish.

Coq Au Riesling
This is chicken dish is slowly cooked in white wine. According to the staff, they cooked this dish for more than 3 hours. Therefore, you can expect ample of flavor in the gravy. Couldn't stop myself from drinking the gravy like soup. But, this dish only come as per show in the image. If you are a rice person, please add on white rice to eat with this dish. You would have to top up few ringgit for the rice itself.

Besides that, another recommended dish is their cheesy Rotizza ( also known as pizza for us). The topping for this Rotizza is four different cheeses, mozzarella, parmesan, goat cheese and cheddar (if I do not remember it wrongly). Whoo... it is so damn cheesy. You can even pulled the cheese like how they advertise it in the Pizza Hut advertisement.

The menu
We did order the Lamb Leg Blanquette as well. Might try out for lamb lover but not recommended for people who do not like to eat lamb smell.

Crème Brulee
Délicieux ! (meaning delicious in French). Very creamy and silky.

Millie-Feuille Strawberry Patisiere
Must Try. I love this dessert. Strawberry used by the chef is sour. Therefore, it compliment the sweetness of this dessert. The pastry is delicious as well.

Chocolate Ganache?
Do not recall the name of this dessert. Maybe you can consult the staff if you wish to try this out. Chocolate lover will love this~

Parfait, if I am not wrong
This is too creamy for me. But, they are really generous with the ingredient. Expect large chunks of Peach and strawberry in this glass.

The lady boss
Advice, do not bring your own cake even if you are going their for birthday celebration as they do have extra charges for the cake you bring on your own around RM45 if your total bill does not exceed RM500.

Just give them a call to reserve the their house cake/ just order a slice of cake if you want it for special occasion

All the review/comments above is only based on my personal opinion.

Chaoz~

A day with Ah Yat Abalone Forum Restaurant :Buffet Dim Sum

你好?

Nowadays, there are a lot of group buying deals companies in the market. All of them are selling all sorts of deals ranging from F&B to travel to merchandise and so on.

I am one of the “kiasu” fellow purchasing this deals. However, I am really conscious with the company who offers the deal. What to do. Got conned before by this damn Street deal in purchasing a travel voucher to Phuket from this f**king Singapore agency Travelsmoove that went bankruptcy when we are about to redeem the voucher. Total damages up to RM2000 for 4 people.

The great thing is when we confronted Street deal , they said they are not responsible with whatever rubbish they place in their website even the details given by their clients is fake or the company they advertise for is a scammer. Even greater, the so called president/judge for our Tribunal Pengguna (fyi, I did lodge a complaint with Tribunal Pengguna Malaysia) told me , “ why do you choose to purchase online when everybody knows in online, you confirm will get scammed . They are not wrong but you as the consumer should be responsible with your careless. You should be like me, Never purchase anything online“. In my brain, I was thinking: “Err, Mr.President, we are paying your salary to fight for the consumer justice and yet you are telling me this bullshit. You are doing a SUPERB job! Bravo

After this incident, I never purchase anything from Street deal anymore. (fyi, there is also a blog entry to make aware of the terms and conditions they set in their website. HERE)

However, on this one fine day, I came across this great (at that very moment) deals in Groupon which is Dim Sum Buffet and double boiled whole abalone offered by Ah Yat Abalone forum.

Hooray! Ah Yat abalone le! Sorry la. Being a bit of a Kampung Girl and not coming from a wealthy family, Ah Yat Abalone is consider a luxury for me.

So, I immediately purchase this deal for myself and my friend.
We went to redeem this deal immediately on the next day!. Super Kiasee already after the bad experience.

Went there with super excited mood and “tamjiak (greedy)” as well
Reached there.

A bit disappointed with the interior of the restaurant. Not as grand as imagined. Even the hygiene level for this branch is not well kept. You can see a number of flies doing their picnic routine. My friend even saw a fly swimming in her cup of tea.

It’s ok we ignored the ambience and start ordering the Dim Sum.
Although we went with the voucher, they will still charge us with the tea RM2.50/pax and also peanuts RM3 as tea is not included in the deals.
First, we are served with the whole abalone double boiled soup!

Double Boiled Whole "Mini" Abalone

The appearance is not as attractive and appetizing as per illustrated but it’s OK as there is always a fine words below the advertisement stating “All images are for illustration purpose only” so we do not expect the abalone to be as big as our palm with the price we paid.

The Power of a Great Photographer: Double Boiled Whole Abalone as per illustrated

Luckily, the soup does not disappoint us. The taste is really flavorful. We finished the whole damn soup!

Regretted!

Quarter of the tummy is filled with water and yet there is still 40 varieties of Dim Sum for us to pick.

The Buffet Menu
Never ever order their steamed bun with custard & salted egg or known as “流砂包”. The bun is super stick and the salted egg filling is very sandy and rough and not recommended their fried fish cake, quite oily.

流砂包 with Chocolate flavor Bun. Weird

But, recommended their Prawn Dumpling (蝦餃), Fried Raddish Cake (炒蘿蔔糕) - with shredded dried scallop as the topping), BBQ pork (叉燒), mini egg tart (蛋撻) and Crispy Roasted Pork. However, Crispy Roasted Pork not recommended for people who seldom consume meat as the lard smell is slightly strong but for people who love lard like ME, then you will love it as the skin is super crispy!

Clockwise: Fried Fish Cake, Deep fried Bean Curd wih Prawn, Fried Raddish Cake, Steamed Chicken Claw with Special Sauce, Crispy Roasted Pork and Prawn Dumpling

Clockwise: Baked No.1 Forum Bun with BBQ Pork filling, BBQ Pork, Century Egg with Pork Porridge, Siew Mai, Steamed Bun with custard and salted egg and Mini Egg Tarts

The other selection is just fine, nothing to be “hooha”.
The normal price for the dim sum is slightly expensive ranging from RM9.80 to RM20 plus for the higher range dim sum such as Shark Fin Dumpling and also their Bird Nest Tart.

Might re-visit the outlet if there is 50% promotion on the dim sum but if on normal price, Ah Yat will not be in my dining list for the dim sum la. Dare not comment on the dinner/lunch set as I still do not have the chance to lay my hands on them.
But, thumb up for their service as they assigned a staff to specially cater for our needs and the staff is really alert. Whenever we start looking around, he would come to our table immediately. Most of the staff there are foreigners.

This outlet can be easily find as this building is just directly opposite of Wisma Hong Leong in Jalan Sultan Ismail.

I.myBurgerLab

Hi peeps,

It had been a long time since I last logged in my blog. I have even forgotten my Gmail password.

OMG!

This proven how busy I am lately. Just kidding.

Lately, I had been attending the Registered Financial Planner module 1 in the HQ PJCity. This is a so-called compulsory for me as it is needed for me to continue my insurance selling activity.... Bla bla bla.....

Therefore, it is also an opportunity for me to try out myBurgerLab. I had longed to try the burger as a lot of people are giving good comments for this franchise. Don't believe? Try "google" it. But due to location ( it is in Seapark, I stayed in Klang), so I am lazy but this few days, since I'm already in PJ for training so "ada" Chance to dropby lor.

Anyways, it is closed on Monday so please don't "Gong Gong" come here on Monday.

But, if u happen to be as "Gong Kia" as me to visit here on a fine Monday (the previous time), not to worry, just turn your car to SS2 and visit the SS2 night market instead.

Normally, there is a large crowd lining up in front of this shop even before 5 pm (fyi, myBurgerLab is opened at 5pm).

Lucky me.
Today when I reached, I Q around 10 minutes and it is my turn to order.

There are a lot of college girls/boys working as part timer here. If you are a first timer, the "lengzai/lengluis" here would be happily to assist you in choosing your burger.

As for me, I choose their A+.

A+ is a combination of chicken with lettuces, tomatoes, Cheddar, Caramelized Onions, Shitake & Enoki mushrooms and their so-called secret recipe sauce , all sandwiched between the charcoal bun. Price: RM15. You can choose to add on the fries and bottomless soda for another RM6.

Clockwise: A+ burger, theFries, the condiments and the secret recipe Chilli

According to my companion, the fries and the special custom made chilies taste really good!

My opinion?

Glad that I finally get to "diep" the burger

I really love the charcoal bun as it is crunchy on the outside. Fluffy in the inside.

First bite is always heavenly. The chicken is juicy but they are quite stingy with the cheddar. Only a mild cheesy taste.
Might revisit this outlet to try out on their different menu. Heard from the staff- if I do not listen wrongly, they have a new coffee flavor burger. Wonder how it's taste!

The portion is good for sharing basis between gals only la. Guys, please order one for your own consumption!

Shorty with Bob Hair ~ Size changes by Nuskin TRA

Its had been a long time since I last blogged. I think my last blog was in May or maybe April itself~~

My bad

Nowadays, I am super duper de lazy to upload the pictures here as I had to resize before I can upload here. So....I gave up...arghhh

Latest update....

I HAD CHOPPED OFF MY LONG HAIR WHICH I START KEPT SINCE I AM 13!!

Doesnt know why I am so emo to do so..

Actually on that day, I am suppose to head to the bearest petrol station to pump petrol as the next day the petrol price will be increasing by 20cents.

and yes, I am one of the kiasu..

But, guess what, there are more kiasuS in the world. The queue for petrol is so damn long. It even caused jam nearby the Lotus Restaurant in Teluk Pulai!

So, I drive and drive and drive and ended up in Setia City Mall. Went in and look for Dexter from D'Beauty Box.
Requested to cut my hair short. My hairstylist asked me, Wah!! U "sat lun" a???

I answered," No, I am pregnant so need to cut my hair short before my confinement!"

We had been in such wuliao conversation since the first time I stepped into this saloon. But the Dexter sifu de skill really not bad. He is very detailed and very particular in the hair cutting and hair dye. He prefer to do all the steps by himself on order to deliver the best result. Personal opinion only la. Not advertising for him.

The last time I chopped my hair to short, I cried for one whole day when I am 12.

However,  my hairstylist promised this time will be different. Used almost 2 hours plus for cuttig and dye ing and tadaaa...

I became this....

Happy with the result

From this,

My previous long hair

After cutting my hair, I become super "zi lian" and my Iphone is full with my camwhoring photos
Camwhoring

Besides the hair, my weight had already reduced from 60kg ( I could not believe!) to currently 53kg (still heavy but better than previously LOT LOT for me la). Took 3 months TRA programme from Nuskin. Previously when my friend promote me this stuff. I told her, "U siao kah?"." Kenot Thin de la" ,

..but end up I become like this. I am amazed. Thanks to Emily consultant!
Become Ini Macam

Anyways, the 3 months course had ended and I continue with my normal food intake. Hopefully, I will be able to maintain it and continue practising healthier lifestyle.

Highly recommended! This is Hanjuku Cheese from Lavender. New product! Taste really good. Smooth cheesy texture and very rich taste.

again Not an advertisement. Just my sincere Recommendation.

That's all for now.

Fashion Week in Pyramid and Wonderful Show in Genting Highlands

Hihi,

Good Day!

Nowadays, the weather is so damn hot. Making my house, a big sauna room.

I can even sweat when I am bathing!

So, in order to save myself from the hot weather, I sneaked to Pyramid on last weekend.
"Kam ngam" , they are having a fashion week in Pyramid.

What so special regarding this event?
They have wonders from different countries such as Signature Red Telephone Booth in London, Paris Tower, Statue of Liberty and so on.

Waiting for Taxi Taxi

They also have a photo booth there. You can snap a beautiful picture of yourself and submit to the Sunway Pyramid website. Rewards - Unknown. You can go find it out and update me later. Arigatou~

Stupid Pose

Besides Pyramid, Genting Highlands is also one of my resort to escape the super hot sun.
Went there last Friday after work and visited the casino, of course.
Middle of the month le.. Insufficient fund so have to go withdraw some money from Uncle Lim's son.

I also got to see a great show from a Japanese performer at the centre court in First World.
He is really good  and dedicated in his show. Even if he failed in performing the stunt at first, he will redo it and make sure it is a success. Really enjoyable!

Please click on the video to have a look.
(Sorry for the low quality video as it is captured by using my Iphone)

P/S: The performer is quite cute as well.

Smile smile. All troubles will go off

That's all for now. Stay tune :). Hopefully the weather would not be that hot anymore. Pray hard....

Kissaten~Setia City Mall

Moshi moshi,

日はレストランの喫茶店を紹介するつもりです  >.<

(Today I am going to introduce you to Kissaten Restaurant)- Paiseh o if the translation is wrong because I used direct Google translate. Blame it on Google if it is wrong.

Kissaten

Kissaten is a casual Japanese restaurant where it does not serve sushi so please do not go to this restaurant hoping to order Tamago, Maki and so on.

FYI, Kissaten in Japanese meaning Café.

This restaurant served quite a large selection of foods ranging from burgers, spaghetti, pizza, burger patty steaks, western cakes, nabemono (hot pot), salads, ramen and also some desserts.  So, do not afraid there is no suitable food for those fussy eaters.

Ordered Chicken Teriyaki Sausage Burger (KissBurger)

Chicken Teriyaki Sausage Burger
and

Chicken Teriyaki Spaghetti

Close Up View of the Chic Teriyaki Spaghetti

The Chicken Teriyaki Sausage is really delicious. The meat is succelent and perfectly fragrant. However, for those who cannot accept a single bit of fat meat then this is not suitable for you as there is small small chunks of fat meats in the sausage which is essential to avoid making the sausage taste dry and not yummy.

There is also plenty of lettuce and tomatoes in the burger. To make me less guilty from consuming the burger.

The portion of the Chicken Teriyaki Spaghetti is just nice for one person. The teriyaki chicken tasted like the "Cha Siew" with some mayonnaise on top. Super delicious. As for the spaghetti, they mixed the vinegar, olive and also onion. Taste wise is good except it is slightly oily.

They served complimentary warm and iced water.

Total Damage is only RM33.90.

Currently, they have some cake promotion on going. For patron who visited the restaurant at 3-6pm, there will be able to enjoy a free cup of coffee with every purchase of cake. While , after 8pm, all their cake will be 20% off.

Please take note, this post is not a sponsored post. Recommendation is merely because I feel the food is tasty and worth to share with others.

Can't wait to visit them again to try out on the Char Siew Pizza and also the other KissBurger.
